Anne Swigard, the principal trainer for Educational
Training Specialists, has been training teachers in the
field of Language Acquisition since 1998, at the site,
district, state and national levels, and is currently
faculty for Staff Development Resources, a national
educational training organization.
She has trained
thousands of teachers in best practices related to the
field of second language acquisition, and has created
original Trainings of Trainers that staff developers can
use in their districts. She has worked with
students K-Adult, in Bilingual, Immersion, Dual
Language, Structured English Immersion, and English as a
Second Language environments.
She is a qualified
trainer of SIOP™,
SDAIE, 6 Traits, and Thinking Maps™.
Her original trainings are a synthesis of best practices
in every aspect of education, including brain research,
integrated curriculum, and research related to second
language acquisition.
She has lived in
four countries, taught in Korea and Japan, and is bilingual in Spanish
and English.
The SEI trainers associated with Educational Training
Specialists have each trained hundreds of teachers in
Best Practices for English Language Learners, and were
very well-received by their workshop participants. They
are current practitioners in the field, and exceed the
requirements set by the Arizona Department of Education
to train on this topic.
Subject area (Literacy,
Math, Social Studies, Technology, etc.) trainers are
considered experts in their fields. All are excellent at
training, are professional, and highly respected. Some
